Our final project was to create a collage that is related to a culture icon. For this project I started off by choosing an icon. For the first one I chose John F. Kennedy.

I looked at some of his more famous quotes on the internet and saw one that, to this day, still stands true which is "Man is still the most extraordinary computer of all".
This is what I came up with.

For the second half of the project I chose a slightly less obvious icon with Waldo.
I made a stencil of Waldo much like I did whe the JFK piece and sprayed it over missing child posters found on-line from all over the world.
This was the final product.
For this piece we had to come up with a monster and illustrate it with gouache and watercolor.
This is not the first drawing that I made of this character, but the others got thrown away and I certainly would not put them on the internet. This is one i did in my class notes.

This is the finished product after adding a darkened background and coloring in the monster with gouache.
The next project that we had consisted of creating a drawing for Google's homepage that involves a potential holiday. I chose June 14th, national bourbon day.
I do not have any real progress shots of this piece because I pretty much sat down and knocked it out one night but lets say that I studied many bottles of bourbon for research.

For one of the first projects in our class we had to take dramatic photos of our eyes and from there we had to draw them based on the picture employing a technique that involves simply using the weight of the pencil to create marks on the paper.
This is the picture that I took of my eye.

Here are some progress shots of my image as it came to be a finished product.
Here is the end product.
